View from my Window | 10 East Window Art Gallery

As a response to COVID-19, 10 East Arts launched “View From My Window,” a roving window art exhibition.  This outdoor exhibition kicked off May 1 with the work of local artists in storefront windows along East 10th Street.  This exhibition was a way to showcase our local artistic talent with paid commission opportunities while adding vibrancy and joy along a heavily traveled stretch of East 10th Street.  Work was on display May-June 2020.

10 East Video-Art Drive-In

As a response to COVID-19, 10 East Arts featured the work of video artists in the storefront window of a vacant building. Video art was displayed in a reverse video projection with audio accompaniment.  Viewers could enjoy the work safely from their car and tune their car radio to 87.9 FM to listen the video installation sound.

May 1 - May 21:  A compilation of video shorts (Run time: 22 minutes) by Chris Vorhees.
May 22 - May 28: Conceptual drawing videos & Fake Flyer Series (Run time: 11 minutes) by Nathaniel Russell.
May 29 – June 12: A depiction of movements in the sky, bodily gestures & sound collaged together to create an ambiguous landscape of emotional states.  (Run time: 11 minutes) by Liz Wierzbicki.

Senior Courtyard Concert Series

As a response to COVID-19, 10 East Arts collaborated with Arts with a Purpose  to curate a weekly Senior Courtyard Concert Series at (5) low-income senior apartment complexes on the Near Eastside for 8 weeks between May-July, 2020.  Music included an eclectic mix of Blues, Jazz, Latin and Rockabilly. More than 50 musicians were paid and more than 300 seniors enjoyed live music safely from their apartment window or socially distanced in the outdoor apartment common area.

2019 Friday Arts Pop-Ups

Inspire 10th Street, in partnership with Arts for a Purpose, presented a series of weekly Arts Pop-Ups on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Residents, community members and visitors were invited to  participate in a variety or art-related activities, from concerts and art-making, to trying different instruments or dancing.
